Business Catalyst enables you to build powerful online businesses for your clients. Editing options are intended for on-the-fly content editing (for example, editing a simple web page). In order to customize the overall design, layout, and look of sites, you should have a basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
Business Catalyst automatically generates a sitemap that Google, Yahoo!, and Bing can use, helping to ensure that your website gets maximum visibility through these popular search engines.
Because Adobe respects your HTML code and won't change it, your website's XHTML standards compliance will depend on the HTML code that you create. However, if you do insert any system modules onto your web pages, the code generated by the system will be compliant.
Yes. Anything you can run on another HTML page or on your blog should work just fine. At a base level, Business Catalyst is like any other web hosting platform.
Yes. You get access to FTP to speed up managing your Business Catalyst website. You can even access system templates and layouts via FTP.
Yes. You can easily add Google Analytics, which you can get directly from Google APIs, to any Business Catalyst site and get the rich reporting features that it provides. Business Catalyst also provides a built-in advanced reporting system with every site, which you can use without any extra configuration.
There are a number of ways you can collect payments. You can use any of the existing payment gateways already supported, such as Authorize.Net, Google Checkout, or PayPal. Or you can opt to use the "Process Offline" method in which you capture payment details from customers, and then process them manually using your existing point-of-sale (POS) system. You can also enable customers to choose to pay by check or COD.

Adobe Muse CC is for designers who want to create websites but do not want to code.
You use Muse to create and update a website. You use Business Catalyst to host it. You must install and use Muse to publish your free sites. Though you can create and edit pages in Business Catalyst, Adobe recommends that Muse users create and edit pages in Muse. Use Business Catalyst only to host the pages. The reason is that if you edit a page in Business Catalyst, your changes are not reflected in Muse. The changes could be overwritten the next time you update the page in Muse and upload it to Business Catalyst.
Muse is a great tool for building static websites. It allows you to build a site very quickly and visually without the need to code in HTML. There are also lots of great third party Muse templates that you can download.
Muse offers support for the following Business Catalyst features:
With Muse you can plan, design, and publish HTML pages according to the latest web standards using familiar Adobe tools. Easy-to-use sitemaps, master pages, and drag-and-drop workspaces let you work quickly. Tools for interactivity, image control, precision typography, browser pinning, and more enable rich experience design.
You can assume that if Adobe Muse CC can't do all of it, then the entire site needs to be redone with everything hand-coded. That's generally not the case, but it would depend on the specific needs of the site. Today, Adobe Muse CC is a great tool for creating websites with high-quality visual design and no integration with a content management system (CMS). That is likely to change as we add CMS integration and explore enabling creation of websites for mobile devices and tablets. Just like in the early days of desktop publishing when Adobe PageMaker® software could create only a small subset of all the possible typeset publications in the world, Adobe Muse today can create only a subset of all the possible websites. However, for websites in that subset, it's a far more efficient tool than hand-coding.
Adobe Muse CC allows you to publish your temporary website to Adobe at no charge for a 30-day trial period. This gives you the opportunity to send a live URL to your client for review. All sites in trial mode with Adobe will include the domain, example http://website.businesscatalyst.com. If you decide to take the site "live" by paying for the monthly hosting, you can transfer your own domain and remove the .businesscatalyst.com subdomain. Or you can export the HTML and host the final site with a hosting provider of your choice.
Yes. Adobe has a number of written and video tutorials that will help you get up to speed with Adobe Muse CC quickly. Visit Adobe Muse CC Help for details.

As the vice president of sales and marketing for a consumable pet company web development has become an essential and time consuming activity, especially since it’s a function we need to outsource. Despite thorough research and referrals the first several web development companies we worked with were really a challenge. We experienced everything from exceeding budgeted costs, project running late to simple not receiving replies on immediate issues.
I can’t tell you how lucky we are that we found Karim and AID+BC. He and his corporation are honest, talented and responsive. Gone are the days of waiting a month for a response or being disappointed that the functionalities we discussed aren’t working properly. I outline a project for Karim, send him my copy and design thoughts and I have a great looking, functional website for a reasonable cost in a matter of weeks. We have already developed 3 websites with Karim and look forward to doing more with him in the future.
I can’t recommend Karim and AID+BC strongly enough for anything web development based.Brett Weinberg, VP Sales & Marketing, GlobalOne Pet
